SoFi Stock Jumps 13% on Record Q3 Revenue, AI Coach Traction, and Raised 2027 Guidance
Revenue up 44% to $1.4B, adjusted EBITDA jumps 70% as SoFi Coach reaches 500K conversations

SoFi Technologies reported its strongest quarter on record Monday, posting Q3 2026 adjusted net revenue of $1.39 billion — a 44% year-over-year gain — alongside an EPS beat and sharply raised guidance that lifted SOFI shares more than 13% in premarket trading. The results mark the first full earnings read-through since SoFi deployed three distinct AI-powered products earlier this year, and the engagement data accompanying those numbers suggests the company's bet on personalized AI banking is beginning to compound.
The stock had shed roughly 34% of its value since January before touching a 52-week low of $13.86 on October 15. Monday's results arrived just five days after SoFi launched SOFIE, its tokenized deposit product — and they appear to validate the thesis that SoFi is no longer primarily a student-loan refinancer but a multi-product AI banking platform with durable engagement mechanics.
Record Metrics Across Every Business Line
Adjusted EBITDA reached $470 million, up 70% year-over-year, as SoFi extended its Rule of 40 streak to twenty consecutive quarters — scoring 79 in Q3, combining 44% revenue growth with margins that have continued to expand as the platform adds products without proportionate headcount. The company has now posted twelve consecutive profitable quarters.
Membership grew to 17.1 million, up 35% year-over-year, while the total product count reached 26.7 million — a 44% increase. The more revealing metric, however, is that 51% of new products opened in Q3 were opened by existing members adding a second or third SoFi product, up from 47% a year earlier. Products per member climbed to 1.56 from 1.47. In platform economics, rising cross-buy rates typically signal that personalization and engagement tools are working, and SoFi's AI coaching layer is the primary driver the company points to.
For the full year, SoFi raised its adjusted net revenue guidance to $5.04 billion and EBITDA to $1.66 billion, with EPS guidance of $0.61. More significantly for investors, the company issued a 2027 outlook of $6.4 billion in adjusted net revenue, $2.24 billion in EBITDA, and $0.90 EPS — projections that sit materially above prior analyst consensus and help explain the premarket surge.
The AI Product Stack Powering the Numbers
SoFi's AI strategy has three distinct layers, each targeting a different point of the member relationship. SoFi Coach, which launched June 2 for SoFi Plus subscribers, is a large language model-based financial guidance chat built on top of Relay — SoFi's financial data aggregation platform, which spans 12,000 financial institutions, 6.5 billion transactions, and approximately $750 billion in outstanding balances.
The Relay network is the architectural detail that distinguishes SoFi Coach from conventional AI banking chatbots. Generic LLMs can answer financial questions; an LLM grounded in a member's complete financial picture across every institution they use can offer personalized advice that a standalone account view cannot replicate. SoFi reported more than 500,000 conversations with SoFi Coach since launch, with over 90% positive member feedback — though the company has not released independent evaluations of advice quality, and those figures are self-reported.
The coach currently handles financial guidance; SoFi has described agentic AI features — where the model could take actions on behalf of members, such as moving funds or executing transactions — as the next phase, though no launch timeline has been publicly committed.
The second AI layer is Composer by SoFi, an AI investing platform acquired when SoFi purchased Composer Securities on June 23. Composer allows members to describe an investment strategy in natural language, which the system converts into a rules-based portfolio that can be backtested and automatically executed. The rules-based execution model is a deliberate design choice: it preserves explainability and regulatory tractability, avoiding the opacity of black-box ML trading systems.
Galileo, SoFi's B2B fintech infrastructure arm serving more than 150 partner companies, has deployed Cyberbank Konecta, a conversational AI chatbot for financial applications across partner platforms. SoFi describes Galileo as the underlying payment and data infrastructure powering the company's AI product strategy.
SoFiUSD and SOFIE: The Blockchain Settlement Layer
The most structurally novel element of SoFi's AI stack is its stablecoin and tokenized deposit architecture, which sits beneath the consumer-facing products and has begun reshaping how SoFi settles transactions internally.
SoFiUSD is a USD-pegged stablecoin deployed on Ethereum and Solana that currently settles SoFi's entire card program on the Mastercard network. Kraken joined the SoFiUSD settlement network in September 2026, extending reach beyond SoFi's own ecosystem.
SOFIE, or SoFi Earn, is architecturally distinct from SoFiUSD and the distinction matters. A stablecoin is a token representing a dollar claim; a tokenized deposit remains a liability of the issuing bank — FDIC-insured, convertible 1:1 into SoFiUSD — but retains the consumer protections of a regulated demand deposit. SOFIE launched October 22, five days before this earnings report, offering 4.40% APY. No other U.S. national bank has issued a consumer-facing tokenized deposit product, a position SoFi attributes to its Office of the Comptroller of the Currency bank charter obtained in 2022.
The implication is that SoFi is building programmable rails beneath its entire product stack — and the regulatory moat of an OCC charter means Robinhood and Chime cannot replicate this architecture without a bank charter of their own.
How SoFi Compares With Fintech Competitors
Robinhood reported 28.4 million funded customers and has deployed Cortex AI, a personalized financial insights layer that operates on users' Robinhood transaction data alone. The scope difference matters: SoFi Coach draws on cross-institution data from the Relay network, while Cortex AI is confined to Robinhood's own transaction history. Robinhood does not hold a bank charter and cannot issue FDIC-insured tokenized deposits.
Chime, which reported approximately 10.4 million active members as of mid-2026, has introduced Jade, its AI coaching feature, and is entering the investing market, but remains primarily a deposit and debit platform without the product breadth or AI infrastructure SoFi has assembled. Neither Chime nor Robinhood has a stablecoin or blockchain settlement layer.
The "everything app" framing SoFi uses — eight distinct businesses each generating more than $100 million in annualized revenue — is structurally difficult for single-product fintechs to replicate quickly. SoFi's 2030 target of 100 million products across the platform and five businesses exceeding $1 billion in annual revenue each requires member retention and cross-buy rates that its AI coaching layer is specifically designed to drive.
What the Metrics Don't Yet Tell Us
SoFi has not disclosed the foundation model underlying SoFi Coach, making independent evaluation of its reasoning quality and hallucination rate impossible. The 90%+ positive feedback figure is a satisfaction metric, not an accuracy benchmark — a member could rate an incorrect financial suggestion positively. SoFi Plus gating also limits the addressable market for Coach and constrains the dataset of conversations relative to what SoFi could eventually train on.
SOFIE's real-world adoption data will not arrive until Q4 2026 earnings; the product launched five days before the Q3 print and its 4.40% APY competes directly with high-yield savings accounts at traditional banks in an environment where the Fed's rate path creates meaningful uncertainty about how long that yield differential persists.
SoFiUSD's on-chain settlement architecture introduces transparency that traditional card settlement lacks — all transactions are publicly verifiable on Ethereum and Solana. This is operationally useful but also means SoFi's settlement volumes are publicly observable in a way competitors' are not.
What Comes Next
SoFi's 2027 outlook of $6.4 billion in revenue and $0.90 EPS reflects management's confidence that the AI product flywheel will continue accelerating member cross-buy. The key variable is whether SoFi Coach's agentic phase materializes — an AI agent that can take financial actions, not just advise, would represent a qualitative step change in the product's value proposition and retention mechanics.
The stablecoin layer has room to expand: Kraken's September entry into the SoFiUSD settlement network was described as the beginning of a broader financial institution network, and SoFi has indicated it intends to extend blockchain settlement beyond the card program. The GENIUS Act, signed into law in July 2025, established the first federal stablecoin regulatory framework and now provides the legal clarity that should help SoFi accelerate institutional settlement partnerships.
The deeper question the Q3 data raises is whether SoFi has found a durable structural advantage in the intersection of bank regulation, proprietary financial data, and applied AI — a combination that took years to assemble and cannot be replicated by an acquisition alone. With SOFIE adoption numbers arriving next quarter and agentic AI features on the roadmap, Q4 2026 will be the first real test of whether the architecture scales as fast as the guidance implies.
